Sorry that I haven't blogged much lately.  My five year old, Logan is still sick.  She has the flu which turned into Bronchitis.  She's been out of school for a week now.  The pediatrician put her on an antibiotic yesterday, so I think by tomorrow we should see a big improvement.  I'll keep you posted....

Well, it's been a busy couple of days.  My five year old Logan, is sick and I haven't had much sleep.  She's running a high fever and is feeling really lousy.  It's nothing serious, just a bad virus that we have to tough out.

Meanwhile, I found this cool thing that allows you to catalog your books online and share them with others.  It's called LibraryThing.  It's an online service, and it's free for up to 200 books.  I added a sidebar to the blog below that shows the books that I like and recommend.  Hope you enjoy it.

Rain, Rain...Go Away...

I worked more on the painting today....and it's coming together really nicely.  Sorry that I didn't have a chance to shoot a photo before I lost all the natural light in my studio today.  I'll try to post the progress tomorrow.  The biggest reason that I couldn't get the photo was due to the huge amount of rain we had this afternoon.  It pretty much altered the day's plans.  When Logan, my five year old, got out of school we were supposed to go shopping for her Valentine's.  The rain and traffic were so bad that I decided to wait until later to go out.  But, it really didn't let up.  So, we got creative and made her Valentine's this year.  I hope she doesn't get razzed tomorrow for not have the latest Character commercial themed Valentine's.  She had a lot of fun making these and I hope it goes over big for her tomorrow.  She's only in Kindergarten...so I don't think she'll have it too bad.  Good thing Mom's an artist, and has a boat load of supplies in her studio.  Each child's name is on the front in funky letters, and she signed the back. She made 20 of them!  I think they came out pretty cute.

A Nice Day

Today was a really nice day.  We all got up early and took the kids to McDonald's for breakfast.  Not my favorite place to eat, but we were pressed for time.  And it was a reward for my 5 year old who finally made it one week at school without getting in trouble for talking!  After that, I took the kids to see the movie, "Night at the Museum"
What a great family flick!   I totally enjoyed it.  The special effects were fantastic, and it has a great cast - Ben Stiller, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Bill Cobbs, Owen Wilson and Robin Williams.  The comedy doesn't take away from the story, and it has a good bit of adult humor. Highly Recommend it.

After we got home, I started working on the new work that I've been telling you about.  I finally got the new Ampersand Claybords from Jerry's Artarama.  They came on Friday and are fantastic!  Of course, I totally stared at them for 2 days before I got the nerve to actually create art on them.  But, once I got started...I haven't been able to stop.  The surface is perfect for watercolors (my favorite medium).  It's so nice to have a watercolor surface on wood.  Yeah....I can't wait to show you the new work soon!

Hope you had a great Halloween this year!  We sure did.  My 12 year old, decided he was too old to dress up this year.  Oh well.... He did have a great time answering the door and filling the trick or treaters bags.  It was nice because it gave Mom and Dad a chance to walk around the neighborhood with our 5 year old, Logan.  She went as a Genie Princess this year.  Check out these cute pics!
